Mr. Bissell's practice focuses on corporate litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery, including disputes about mergers and acquisitions, going private transactions, “interested party” transactions, proxy contests, valuation and appraisal issues, indemnification and advancement and stockholder access to books and records. In addition, he has tried and handled a broad array of securities, financial, accounting malpractice, RICO, antitrust, patent, copyright, trade secret and other business disputes that involve complex financial, economic, or accounting concepts in federal and state courts throughout the country. Mr. Bissell has also assisted Boards of Directors and special litigation committees in connection with derivative claims and has assisted boards, officers and others in SEC investigations.
Before joining Young Conaway, Mr. Bissell was a partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, an associate at Dewey Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood, New York, NY, and a Law Clerk to Hon. Justice Richard Neely, Justice of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, Charleston, W.Va.
