Maribeth exclusively represents management in all facets of workplace law. She has experience representing employers in litigation matters in both state and federal courts, such as employment discrimination and wrongful discharge cases. As employment counsel, she advises clients regarding day-to-day employment issues, such as employee discipline and discharge, reductions in force, and restrictive covenants. Maribeth has extensive experience responding to EEOC, U.S. Department of Labor, and state agency investigations.
She also works with the firm’s Bankruptcy Section to address labor and employment issues that arise in the context of purchases, sales, mergers, layoffs, and shutdowns. Prior to focusing her practice on employment law litigation, Maribeth practiced with that section, specializing in mass tort asbestos bankruptcies and advocating on behalf of representatives for unknown future claimants. Her bankruptcy experience is valuable, particularly when advising clients about the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (the WARN Act).
Maribeth has extensive experience with electronic discovery and document retention matters. She has worked with Young Conaway’s clients on a range of related issues, from drafting and implementing document retention plans to identifying the duty to preserve documents and managing massive electronic document reviews.
She is a regular contributor to the Delaware Employment Law Letter, the only monthly newsletter exclusively for Delaware employers, and Young Conaway’s employment law blog, DelawareEmploymentLawBlog.com.
