Monté has re-joined the firm following a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Gregory M. Sleet, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Monté first joined Young Conaway in September 2005 after graduating from law school with honors. While in law school, Monté was the External Managing Editor of The Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and was a delegate to the National Conference of Law Reviews.

Since initially joining the firm, Monté has been involved in a number of significant commercial and intellectual property disputes, including lead counsel representations in cases such as: UD Technology Corp. v. Phenomenex, Inc. (patent infringement) and Burtch, et al. v. Milberg Factors, et al. (antitrust) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and Hologic, Inc. v. NexTech Solutions, Inc. (trade secret misappropriation/breach of contract) and Tempur-Pedic International, Inc. v. Landvik (trade secret misappropriation/breach of contract) in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Superior Court respectively. His experience also includes numerous Delaware counsel representations in such cases as Dyson v. Maytag Corp. (patent infringement/false advertising), Telcordia v. Lucent (patent infringement) and GlaxoSmithKline v. Teva Pharmaceuticals (patent infringement/ANDA). In October 2007, Monté served as chair of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware Merit Review and Retention Panel for the Reappointment of U.S. Magistrate Judge Thynge.

Monté volunteers as a mentor for high school students interested in the law as part of the DuPont StreetLaw Diversity Pipeline program and as the mock trial coach for the Howard High School mock trial team. He also represents abused and neglected children as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Delaware Office of Child Advocate and serves as a board member for a number of non-profit organizations in the community. Monté is an active member of the firm’s Diversity and Hiring committees and serves as Chair of the Delaware State Bar Association Multicultural Judges & Lawyers Section.
