Reaching Settlement

Challenge:

A shareholder class action was filed after a major software developer rejected a buyout offer from a rival.

 

Approach:

A team of Young Conaway lawyers served as co-counsel to a larger New York City-based law firm on the matter, and helped the software developer reach a settlement.

 

Outcome:

As reported in a major business publication, the favorable settlement gave nothing to the rival, according to the company’s supplemental proxy filing, which also noted that the company would oppose any application by the opposing counsel for fees and expenses.
