Good Times: YCST Summer Associate Social Events
Young Conaway's social events create a two-way opportunity.
As we get to know you outside of the office, you gain a broader and deeper feel for us - our lawyers, our staff, Wilmington and the legal profession. We also believe the getting-to-know-you process should be fun too.
YCST Summer Scene
During the summer program, we shape a summer that's social enough to be enjoyable but not burdensome.
Our summer associates can expect a range of outings - networking happy hours in local watering holes, softball games, wine and beer tastings, courtside seats at World Team Tennis, and our annual summer associate-partner dinner.
We also go beyond what's expected by adding a few personal touches.
Partners open their homes and host BBQs and picnics for the summer associate class. We take you out to the ballpark to cheer for the Wilmington Blue Rocks, our minor league baseball team. During events like golf outings, citywide team scavenger hunts and mid-week beach breaks, you'll get a taste for life in Delaware while connecting with fellow summer associates and attorneys.
Dining and Social Stipends
Some of the most valuable socializing occurs in smaller, one-to-one settings which we encourage throughout the summer.
Our Associate Dining Program funds and promotes opportunities for all associates to network over a cup of coffee or lunch in our many local restaurants. Associates also receive larger stipends for dining out of the office with their mentees.
Discover Wilmington and Delaware
Many summer associates are new to Wilmington and Delaware and we love showing you why we're fans of the First State.
Our hosted state tour includes visiting the historic Old State House, Supreme Court and Dover Air Force Base museum, and touring Dogfish Head (a local brewery).
Working and living here, a mid-Atlantic crossroad between New York City and Washington D.C., blends urban sophistication and a relaxed, natural lifestyle. Wilmington boasts world-class museums, destination dining, multicultural festivals and a lively music scene. Philadelphia, just 30 minutes by car from Wilmington, exponentially expands your choice of sporting, recreational and cultural attractions.
The Delaware lifestyle frequently involves water - rivers, bays, wetlands and 30 miles of ocean beaches. From recreational boating to waterside restaurants, our appreciation and enjoyment of nature starts with the sea and extends into the Brandywine Valley countryside and the state's campgrounds and forests. Quite simply, it's an ideal place to spend the summer.
