Matters come to Young Conaway from companies and individuals in all 50 states and abroad seeking the sophistication and business-savvy fairness of the Delaware legal system. Our Legal Recruiting Team is always looking for talented laterals and judicial clerks who are interested in growing their practice and collaborating with attorneys and business professionals at one of Delaware's premier law firms.

Select the practices below to learn why and how we are widely recognized in our community.

Our Practices
Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring

Young Conaway's Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring group is the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2023, our attorneys filed more than three times the number of Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware as our closest competitor.  In addition, our mass-tort team advises clients on all aspects of mass-tort bankruptcy proceedings and settlement trusts, from estimating claims and litigating causes of action to negotiating chapter 11 plans.

Business & Tax

Young Conaway's Business and Tax attorneys are focused on providing practical solutions that lead to the best strategic outcomes. Members of this group act as primary outside counsel or collaborate strategically with lead counsel in other jurisdictions throughout the world to address Delaware law issues.

Corporate Litigation & Counseling

Young Conaway's Corporate Litigation and Counseling attorneys are best known for their work in high-stakes, fast-paced, bet-the-company Delaware Court of Chancery litigation. Our practitioners' skills are in high demand due to their ability to package and present exceptionally complicated issues to an esteemed Chancery judiciary. Internal governance issues and the lawsuits that often accompany them play a large role in our practice. Members of the group also counsel special committees of boards of directors on their duties under Delaware law and serve as expert witnesses or mediators on Delaware matters.

Intellectual Property Litigation

The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the State of Delaware’s Court of Chancery continue to see an increase in intellectual property filings because of the courts’ ability to handle complex, accelerated matters.  Young Conaway's Intellectual Property team offers a broad range of intellectual property services to national and international corporate clients to help them meet specific business objectives. With many years of experience in both jury and bench trials before Delaware’s federal and state courts, our attorneys can handle every stage of the litigation, from Markman hearings to motions for summary judgment, trials, and appeals.

Litigation & Trial Practice

While other Delaware law firms grew litigation departments to suit the needs of their transactional clients, Young Conaway began as a litigation firm. Our Litigation and Trial practice encompasses a broad spectrum of actions for both businesses and individuals. While members of this practice group are both creative and agile in the courtroom, they pride themselves on their ability to carefully listen to their client, collaborate on all options, and arrive at a resolution in keeping with the client's objectives and risk tolerance.
