Biography
Carmella, a Delaware native, is an associate in Young Conaway’s Complex and Specialty Litigation Group. Drawing on her extensive litigation background, clients rely on Carmella for her ability to analyze, articulate and argue legal issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Carmella worked full time for both the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and the Delaware Office of the Attorney General where she assisted prosecutors through all stages of litigation including discovery investigations, research and writing, negotiation tactics, oral argument development, and post-trial pleadings. While in law school, Carmella worked side by side with a private criminal defense attorney focusing in on the art of litigation. She expanded her skill set to civil litigation as an associate in a Delaware insurance defense firm.
Carmella has received multiple awards for her pro bono public service. She was chosen as Delaware Law School’s Domestic Violence Fellow and worked for the Delaware Civil Clinic representing victims of domestic violence in Delaware Family Court. She also has aided in preparing and drafting legislative motions for women’s rights and child protection.
