Margaret ("Molly") DiBianca, an associate in Young Conaway's Employment Law Section, was quoted by David F. Carr in his recent blog post entitled, "Social Media Research May Expose Discrimination Claims." The article discusses recent developments associated with social media research and the hiring process. Molly cautions employers, " 'What worries me more is the rogue supervisor,' going out and doing research without any formal guidelines...It's better to have a formal policy and stick to it, so you have something to point to if the EEOC ever does come calling...".
