Partner John T. Dorsey Appointed to the Bench of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware

(WILMINGTON, DE – May 21, 2019) Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP is pleased to announce that partner John T. Dorsey has been appointed to the bench of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, to be sworn in at a ceremony in early June.

For more than 26 years, Dorsey represented clients in complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation matters before Delaware's courts. He worked closely with clients and co-counsel to find practical, business-oriented solutions to difficult cases.  Through his work as Young Conaway’s general counsel, Dorsey developed a deep knowledge of the legal and ethical issues facing law firms today.

Prior to joining Young Conaway, Dorsey served as State Director for then U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. from 2000 to 2003.  He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his J.D. magna cum laude from Wake Forest School of Law.

Once confirmed, Dorsey will serve a renewable fourteen-year term.
