Young Conaway Welcomes Tania M. Culley as Inaugural Pro Bono Manager

WILMINGTON, DE --Young Conaway is pleased to announce that Tania M. Culley has joined the firm as the inaugural Pro Bono Manager.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tania to our team as the new Manager of Pro Bono Initiatives,” said Young Conaway’s Vice-Chair Michael R. Nestor.  “Her passion for justice and commitment to serving the community will be instrumental in expanding our impact and service to those in need in Delaware and around the country.”

Ms. Culley recently retired from the Office of the Child Advocate (OCA), having been appointed as Delaware’s first Child Advocate in 1999.  During her twenty-six years at the OCA, Ms. Culley tirelessly advocated for the safety and well-being of children. She was responsible for drafting legislation and developing training programs which permitted attorney volunteers to join members of the agency in representing abused and neglected children in Delaware’s legal system. She also served as Executive Director of the Child Protection Accountability Commission (CPAC) in Delaware. The commission is tasked with monitoring child protection systems and making recommendations for improvements.  Ms. Culley was recognized this summer for her decades of service and leadership with a Tribute from the State of Delaware’s House of Representatives.

Ms. Culley is a graduate of Christiana High School, the University of Delaware, and Widener Law School. She worked as a Deputy Attorney General representing the Delaware Division of Family Services before serving as Child Advocate. She was also inducted into the Hall of Fame of Delaware Women in 2019.
