2023 Unico National Americanism Award Goes to Richard A. DiLiberto, Jr.
Richard A. DiLiberto, Jr. will receive the 2023 Philip Mazzei Americanism Award from Unico National, America’s largest Italian-American Service Organization, during its annual convention in Sanibel Harbour, Florida, in July.
The award is named for Philip Mazzei, an Italian patriot, physician and vintner, who became a close friend and neighbor to Thomas Jefferson, in colonial Virginia in 1774. Mazzei is credited with first proposing the great phrase “All men are created equal” anchored in the Declaration of Independence in 1776, by Jefferson. An article highlighting the upcoming award ceremony was featured in The Delaware Valley Italian American Herald.
Rick DiLiberto is a partner in Young Conaway's Personal Injury group where he regularly represents families whose loved ones have been injured or killed by another’s negligence. Rick has been co-chairman of the firm's government relations committee, chairman of the paralegal committee, the personal injury litigation section, and the continuing legal education committee. He is also a past-President of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association (DTLA) and is one of two Delaware state delegates to the American Association for Justice. Before joining Young Conaway in 1987, Rick was law clerk to Judge Vincent Bifferato of the Del. Superior Court.
