September 2, 2014Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norman M. Powell, a partner in Young Conaway's Business Planning and Transactions Section, has been appointed to the faculty of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. In her August 11, 2014 letter, Dean JoAnne Epps named Mr. Powell an Adjunct Professor, teaching Secured Transactions one morning each week for the fall semester.

Secured transactions are those in which property secures payment or performance of an obligation. A car loan secured by the car, or a home mortgage secured by the home, are two common examples. Much of the law is codified in Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
