Norman M. Powell has been elected by the ABA Board of Governors to a three-year term, effective June 1, 2014, as the ABA’s representative to the Uniform Commercial Code Permanent Editorial Board.

The Uniform Commercial Code Permanent Editorial Board is composed of members from the American Law Institute and the Uniform Law Commission.  The Board assists and maintains uniformity in state statutes governing commercial transactions by discouraging non-uniform amendments to the Uniform Commercial Code.  It also prepares commentaries and advises member organizations on further changes needed to the Uniform Commercial Code.
