Robert V.A. Harra III focuses his practice on business transactions, corporate and alternative entity planning and strategy, financing matters, and tax planning. He also advises institutional trustees, family offices, and individuals on trust and estate planning, trust administration, wealth transfer strategies, and related tax considerations.
Rob is an experienced and trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, business owners, corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, Delaware statutory trusts, and other organizations on all aspects of business planning and transactions. His work spans entity formation and governance, management and ownership matters, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, contract negotiation, secured transactions, and Delaware legal opinions. Rob provides precise, practical guidance aligned with each client’s strategic goals, assisting with day‑to‑day compliance and operational issues as well as major business and financial transactions and business disputes.
In addition to his business and transactional practice, Rob counsels high net worth clients on trust and estate planning with a focus on wealth transfer and preservation, asset protection, tax planning, and the unique advantages of Delaware trust law. Rob drafts, reviews, and opines on trust and estate planning documents, including complex Delaware trust structures such as directed trusts, dynasty trusts, and asset protection trusts. He frequently represents clients across the country in the transfer of trust situs to Delaware and the strategic modifications of trusts to leverage the state's favorable trust laws.
Before entering the practice of law, Rob worked for global financial institutions and in the consumer goods and market research industries, where he gained extensive experience in business planning, strategy, finance, product development, and marketing.
