Mary F. Dugan Receives 2022 H. James Conaway, Jr. Award for Exemplary Pro Bono Legal Services
Young Conaway is pleased to announce that the 2022 recipient of the H. James Conaway, Jr. Award is Mary F. Dugan, The H. James Conaway, Jr. Award is presented to the Partner/Counsel who provides exemplary pro bono legal services to the community and the Bar.
Ms. Dugan was appointed by Governor Carney in 2018 to serve as Chair of the Delaware Child Protection Accountability Commission (“CPAC”). CPAC’s mission is to monitor Delaware’s child protection system to ensure the health, safety and well-being of Delaware’s abused, neglected and dependent children. For many years Ms. Dugan has served on the Boards of several community-based non-profits, and she remains on the Board of Los Jardines as its Treasurer. Los Jardines provides housing and educational programming to low-income seniors.
Ms. Dugan has been a member of the Delaware State Bar Association’s (“DSBA”) Executive Committee for several years and will be its President-Elect as of July 1, 2023. She is also involved in the Richard Rodney Inn of Court and is active in various Firm DEI committees and projects, including serving as Co-Chair of the Women’s Affinity Group and as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Government Relations Committee.
