Young Conaway Joins Law Firm Antiracism Alliance
Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP has joined the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (“LFAA”). LFAA is made up of more than 200+ law firms who are committing resources and partnering with legal service organizations “to use the law as a vehicle for change that benefits communities of color and to promote racial equity in the law.”
“Young Conaway has a long history of providing pro bono support to organizations in Delaware that serve underrepresented communities and individuals,” states Chairman and Bankruptcy Partner, Robert S. Brady. “Our firm’s participation in the LFAA will permit our attorneys to leverage ideas and legal resources on a nationwide scale to address systemic racism in the law and ensure that racial equality is a collective reality in our communities, not merely an aspiration.”
The LFAA plans to officially form as a nonprofit organization and coordinate with member law firms to create pro bono projects that are both immediate and long term in scope. Mr. Brady also noted that leaders of LFAA law firms have acknowledged a responsibility to continually review and eliminate policies or practices that may perpetuate racial inequities in the legal profession. Young Conaway recognizes that promoting affinity, diversity, and inclusion requires commitment and effort. The firm remains dedicated to attracting, retaining, and promoting attorneys and staff with a full range of backgrounds and experiences.
