American Bankruptcy Institute Names Kara Hammond Coyle to Its 2018 “40 Under 40” Class

Young Conaway congratulates Bankruptcy and Restructuring Partner Kara Hammond Coyle who has been named by the American Bankruptcy Institute to Its "40 Under 40" Class of 2018.

The ABI’s "40 Under 40" program "recognizes insolvency professionals who are committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities." 

The Class of 2018 was selected from over 300 applications and will be recognized at a special luncheon during ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Ms. Coyle is a partner in Young Conaway's Bankruptcy and Restructuring group, where she focuses her practice on representing companies as debtors-in-possession in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.  Ms. Coyle has handled high profile matters before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware as both lead and co-counsel. A few of her representative debtor cases include Enduro Resource Partners, LLC, Ascent Resources Marcellus Holdings, LLC, The PMI Group, Inc., and American Home Mortgage Holdings, Inc.  In addition to representing corporate debtors, Ms. Coyle represents many lenders, noteholders and other significant creditors in insolvency cases and restructuring workouts. Recent notable representations include Access Holdco Management and its affiliates in their assignment for the benefit of creditors, as well as certain former directors and officers of Patriot National. When not in court, Ms. Coyle is an active member in Young Conaway's Hiring Committee and serves as a guardian ad litem to a number of children in foster care in Delaware.

Ms. Coyle is a graduate of the American University Washington College of Law.  She is a member in both the Delaware State Bar and American Bar Associations.  She also serves on the advisory board for the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop.
