Travis G. Maurer Receives 2022 William F. Taylor Award for Exemplary Pro Bono Services
Young Conaway is pleased to announce that Travis G. Maurer received the 2022 William F. Taylor Award during the firm's recent retreat. The William F. Taylor Award is given to an Associate who has provided exemplary pro bono legal services to the community and the Bar.
Mr. Maurer is not only an Associate in Young Conaway's Business Planning and Tax Section, but he is also a Captain in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps serving the 153rd Legal Operations Detachment. In 2022, he was responsible for legal training for almost 50 other JAG lawyers and paralegals. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Maurer also provided tax and estate planning advice to military personnel and drafted wills, powers of attorney and other legal documents. While the Army says that Reserve officers are expected to serve one weekend a month and 2 weeks of active duty a year, Travis’s exemplary service has gone far beyond these minimum requirements.
In addition, Mr. Maurer is an active member of the Firm’s Military, Veterans and First Responders Affinity Group, a volunteer for the firm's annual Toys for Tots drive and has provided other pro bono tax and estate planning and will drafting services.
As the recipient of the 2022 William F. Taylor Award, Young Conaway will contribute $1,000 to the charity of Mr. Maurer's choice.
